Campus Update December 3, 2009
Carrizo Springs Junior High School continues
to keep a busy schedule as we approach the Christmas Holidays. Some
highlights of our campus include:
- November 4-6, 2009 – Three of our science teachers attended a
three day CAST conference in Galveston. They learned new ideas for
instruction, and will implement these with their students.
- November 6, 2009- Teachers attended C-scope and 5E instructional
planning lead by Dr. Casey.
- November 20, 2009 - Teacher received training on creating web
pages from Mrs. Hasten as part of the Vision 20/20 grant
requirements for technology staff development
.
November 11, 2009 – Students attended a presentation that
informed the students on choices, the challenges of peer pressure
and dangers of drugs. Motivational Productions was in charge of the
presentation. Students from CSI, Big Wells, and Asherton Elementary
also attended.
November 11, 2009 - Student council representatives, accompanied
by Mr. Alvarado, helped decorate and participate in the District
Wide Veterans Day Celebration at the football field.
November 16, 2009- The campus held their annual Language Arts
and Social Studies Night for all the parents. Teachers from both
departments talked to parents about the activities going on in their
classrooms. They also showed picture slideshows of the students and
gave information regarding TAKS testing. We had a good turnout of
parents and students.

medical field attended a Medical Expo in Laredo. Counselors Jesus
Cadena and Christy Ward attended the field trip with the students.
November 20, 2009 - The parents of the 7th grade

undefeated all season. They served
hamburgers, hot dogs, and cake, and showed video clips of their
successful season. Way to go CATS!

support our young Wildcats every Thursday.
