Cadet 2^nd Lieutenant Nicolas Sunderland

Nicolas serves as the Training, Operations, and Security Officer (S2-3) of the Carrizo Springs JROTC Wildcat Battalion. As the S2-3 he assists the Battalion Commander in the preparation, conduct, and supervision of all training activities of the Cadet Battalion. He is the commander of the Varsity Armed Drill Team and a member of the Varsity PT Team, Orienteering Team, Color Guard, Rifle Marksmanship Team, and Saber Detail.

Nicolas has received awards from the American Legion, (Military Excellence Award) and is recognized as the best physical athlete in the Cadet Corps with the first place of Cadet Challenge Award. Nicolas plans to attend East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas where he plans to graduate with a degree in ministry and pursue a career as a missionary.
