Cadet Captain Irene Iris Medina

 

Irene is a third year cadet and junior. Irene serves as the JROTC Wildcat Battalion Executive Officer and Alpha Company Commander. Her future goals include college and medical school career to become a pediatrician. Irene has served as Captain of Color Guard for two years and Unarmed Drill Team for one. At home she is the youngest of 4 siblings. She has received the National Sojourners award for 2005 and was recognized top physically fit female in the JROTC Battalion. She is currently on varsity teams for Air Rifle, Color Guard Physical Fitness, and Unarmed Drill Team. She has met significant people such as 2004 Para Olympian Silver Medalist Dan Jordan, 2-time Olympian Dr. Dan Durban, Lieutenant General (Operation Iraqi Freedom Coalition Commander) Richard Sanchez, State Representative Tracy O. King, U.S Congressman Henry Bonilla, First Lady of Texas Anita Perry, U.S Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson, and State Senator Judith Zafferini.
