Honor Unit Awarded to JROTC
On November 17, 2005, Inspectors from the 12th
Brigade at Fort Sam Houston observed the Wildcat Battalion in order to assess
them on their mastery of curriculum knowledge on Unit Drill and ceremony and
Army Regulation. The inspectors graded each individual company on their
curriculum knowledge and unit Drill during each of their respective class
periods.
The Carrizo Springs JROTC Wildcat Battalion was awarded the
“Honor Unit” designation, which is the second highest unit grade a JROTC
Battalion can receive. This prestigious honor gives the JROTC cadets the
privilege of wearing the “Blue Star” Army JROTC award (seen above) which
designates the Battalion’s status as an Honor Unit.
The hard work put in by each individual cadet is shown as
they receive this honor. All the hours put in, and all the studying necessary
has paid off as they are now able to show with pride what they have
accomplished.
