Physical Facilities:

 

Leadership Academy:      Home of the Wildcat ROTC Battalion containing two classrooms, Indoor Air Rifle Marksmanship Range, Supply Room, and Secure Arms Room. The building is a standalone entity built in 1996 by the students of Carrizo Springs Building Trades Classes. The facility has office space and restrooms to accommodate activities for the cadets.

 

Training Area 1, Classroom 1: This is the main classroom for the ROTC battalion where instruction awards and conducted.

 

Training Area 2, Classroom 2/Indoor Range: This classroom is used by upperclassmen for instructional preparation and study. The companies practice marching here during the inclement weather. Marksmanship team uses the range for practice and matches.

 

Training Area 3, Land Navigation and Orienteering: The small oak tree in front of Leadership Academy is the start and finish point of 42 specific global position stations (GPS) used to navigate with a compass.

 

Training Area 4, Outdoor classroom: The outdoor classroom consists of an aluminum awning donated by the local produce plant.

 

Training Area 5, Hard stand/drill area: This is the asphalt mat pad located to the north and east of the Academy Building used for competition, unit   drill, and marching the companies on uniform day.

 

Training Area 6, Confidence course:  The confidence court features 20 elements spread over 470 yards and consists of four pull up bars, mobile balance, two fences, a zig-zag balance, a cargo net tower, a wall, island hoper, parallel bars, e-z balance, overhead ladder, high knee run, a swing stop and jump, maze, log roll, tunnel, elevated pushup station, abdominal double knee lift rack, a river bank walk and balance, and rope climb.

 

Training Area 7, Sand courts: This is where the battalion plays volleyball.

 

Training Area 8, One mile cross country running course: A course that the Wildcat Battalion runs almost every Tuesday

 

Training Area 9, Assembly & Inspection Area: This is where companies assemble and uniform inspections are conducted.

 

Training Area 10, Stadium: This is where the Wildcat Battalion post colors before football games and conducts the Cadet Challenge Competition.

 

Training Area 11, Carrizo Springs High School Gymnasium: This is where physical training is conducted if the weather is too extreme, where we conduct the Brush Country Air Rifle Competition in the spring.

 

Training Area 12, Play Area: This is where the battalion conducts team Physical Fitness activities.
