6th Language Arts & Student Support

Class overview— Students will learn and master the language arts skills needed to be successful in the sixth grade. They will complete several projects throughout the year and report on them by giving class presentations.  Grading will consist of 60% daily work and 40% assessments.  Progress reports will be sent out every three weeks as well as Notice of Concerns when necessary.  

 

 

Teacher bio— My name is Christy Cook Ward and I am a sixth grade Language Arts teacher at the CS Junior High.  I went to school in Carrizo Springs and graduated in 1991.  I went to SWTJC and Sul Ross State University for undergrad and graduate studies.  I have a Bachelor's of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s of Education in Counseling.  I enjoy working with students and reading books. 

 

Goals for the year— Our goals for the year are for each student to learn the necessary skills in order to be successful, improve our reading abilities, and enjoy reading.
