Juan Cruz

 

Juan E. Cruz has lived in Asherton,Texas all his life and has been on the Board of Trustees since 2016. His term expires in November 2024. Mr. Cruz was a Board Secretary in 2017 and has been on the School Board for eight years.

Mr. Juan E. Cruz graduated from Asherton High School in 1976. He received his education as a Respiratory Therapist from the California College for Health Science. .

Since, 1992 has been license by (NBRC) National Board Respiratory Care and Texas Medical Board as Respiratory Care Practitioner. A former Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 1991. Has been employed by Dimmit Regional Hospital for 35 years.

He is married to Zina Loretta Sifuentes, who is a Elementary education teacher in our district for more than 30 years, and they have five former Wildcat graduates. Justin, Aaron, Zachary, Johnny and Yzela Magaly and also, Ryder our family dog. In his free time he loves playing golf, reading book about Texas history, traveling and spending time with his family, and advocating for our district families.

His favorite part of being a trustee is being able to make a difference in the lives of our students. He believes that public education is essential for every child regardless of circumstances. They can grow through an innovative educational experience to achieve success.
