Carrizo Springs CISD - Terms of Use for Email Access
1. Purpose Carrizo Springs Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) provides email access to its students, staff, and faculty to facilitate educational and administrative communication. By accessing the Carrizo Springs CISD email services, users agree to abide by these Terms of Use.
2. Authorized Use Email accounts provided by Carrizo Springs CISD are for official school-related communication only. Unauthorized use for personal, commercial, or other non-school purposes is strictly prohibited.
3. Privacy and Monitoring Carrizo Springs CISD reserves the right to monitor email communications to ensure compliance with district policies. Users should have no expectation of privacy for communications sent or received on district email accounts.
4. Prohibited Conduct Users are prohibited from:
- Sending, receiving, or storing content that is abusive, defamatory, pornographic, or illegal.
- Sharing confidential district information without authorization.
- Using email to harass, threaten, or discriminate against others.
- Engaging in any activity that disrupts network performance or security.
5. Security Users are responsible for safeguarding their email login credentials. Sharing passwords or allowing unauthorized access is prohibited.
6. Compliance All email communications are subject to federal, state, and district policies, including but not limited to the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and any applicable district-specific guidelines.
7. Violations Failure to comply with these Terms of Use may result in disciplinary action, including revocation of email access, disciplinary action under district policy, or legal action as applicable.

District Chromebooks and Ipads
Carrizo Springs CISD Student Device Terms of Use
1. Purpose and Ownership
Carrizo Springs CISD provides Chromebooks and iPads to students to support educational activities and enhance learning. These devices remain property of Carrizo Springs CISD and are assigned to students for educational purposes only. All students and their parents/guardians must read, understand, and agree to this Terms of Use policy.
2. Acceptable Use
Students are expected to:
- Use devices responsibly and solely for school-related activities.
- Follow district guidelines and policies, including Internet safety and digital citizenship.
- Report any damages, malfunctions, or loss of devices to the school immediately.
3. Prohibited Activities
Prohibited activities on the district-provisioned devices include, but are not limited to:
- Installing unauthorized software or applications.
- Accessing inappropriate websites or content.
- Attempting to bypass network security protocols or interfere with district software, systems, or settings.
- Using the device for non-educational or personal activities such as gaming, social media, or shopping.
4. Privacy and Monitoring
Carrizo Springs CISD reserves the right to monitor all activity on district-provisioned devices. Student privacy will be respected in compliance with district policies, but students should be aware that no expectation of privacy applies while using school-provided devices or networks.
5. Care and Maintenance
Students are responsible for the care and safe-keeping of their assigned devices:
- Keep the device in its protective case (if provided) and avoid exposure to liquids, extreme heat, or cold.
- Use only district-approved accessories, such as chargers and cables.
- Follow the district's guidelines for maintenance and repairs.
6. Loss, Theft, or Damage
Students and their parents/guardians are financially responsible for loss, theft, or damage to the devices beyond normal wear and tear. Lost or stolen devices must be reported to the school as soon as possible, and a police report may be required.
7. Violation of Terms
Failure to comply with these terms may result in disciplinary actions, including restricted access to devices, suspension of privileges, or other appropriate actions according to Carrizo Springs CISD policy.
School Programs and Website Access

- Account Responsibility: Students are responsible for keeping their login information secure. Sharing login credentials is prohibited and may result in loss of access to resources.
- Privacy Protections: The district takes measures to protect student data. Unauthorized attempts to bypass security measures are strictly forbidden and subject to disciplinary action.
4. Safety Guidelines
- Online Behavior: Students should exercise caution when interacting online and avoid sharing personal information.
- Reporting: Any suspicious activity, inappropriate content, or security concerns should be immediately reported to a teacher, counselor, or IT staff member.
- Monitoring: To ensure student safety and compliance with policies, the district may monitor online activity on school-provided accounts.
