Rose S. Pearson
Superintendent of Schools
Carrizo Springs Consolidated Independent School District
Mrs. Rose S. Pearson has proudly served as Superintendent of Carrizo Springs CISD since May 2024, bringing over 25 years of experience in public education and a deep commitment to student success, community engagement, and continuous improvement. As a proud native of Carrizo Springs, she leads with purpose and a strong belief in the potential of every student.
Working in close partnership with the Board of Trustees, Mrs. Pearson supports a governance structure grounded in Lone Star Governance. Together, they have established clear board goals and superintendent guardrails that keep the district focused on improving student outcomes and ensuring accountability in all decisions.
Under her leadership, the district has strengthened academic systems through high-quality instructional materials, professional learning communities, and data-driven practices. The use of NWEA MAP Growth assessments supports progress monitoring aligned to the board’s goal of ensuring each student achieves at least one year of academic growth.
Attendance has improved from 89% to 92% through intentional outreach and strong family partnerships. In addition, all campuses have implemented a districtwide behavior framework focused on being safe, respectful, and responsible, fostering positive and supportive learning environments.
A major milestone has been the implementation of Bond 2023, including the construction of two new schools, Carrizo Springs Elementary and Carrizo Springs Intermediate, scheduled to open in August 2027, along with critical facility upgrades across the district.
The district’s progress has also received statewide recognition. Following a visit from the Texas Education Agency, Carrizo Springs CISD was invited to participate in a video project highlighting effective instructional practices.
Mrs. Pearson previously served as Executive Director of Schools in Medina Valley ISD and held multiple leadership roles in San Marcos CISD, including middle school principal, instructional coach, and classroom teacher. She also served as an assistant principal in New Braunfels ISD.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Bilingual Education from Southwest Texas State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce, and Superintendent Certification from Texas State University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education from Houston Christian University.
Mrs. Pearson values strong relationships and remains committed to working alongside students, staff, families, and the community to create opportunities for all Wildcats to succeed.
She has been married to Daniel Pearson for 31 years, a Program Manager with the United States Geological Survey. They are proud parents of three sons. She values time with her family and enjoys traveling and supporting her children in their pursuits.
Together, Carrizo Springs CISD continues to move forward with a shared commitment to growth, excellence, and opportunity for every student.
